Company Description Global CISO Council Washington DC Chapter is a professional organization focused on advancing cybersecurity leadership and collaboration across the Washington DC–Baltimore area. The chapter brings together Chief Information Security Officers and senior security leaders to share best practices, foster peer-to-peer learning, and address emerging cyber risks. It provides networking opportunities, educational programs, and forums for discussing strategic security initiatives. The chapter aims to strengthen the regional cybersecurity community and support members in enhancing their organizations’ security posture.
Role Description The VP Outreach and Membership is a part-time, remote role, based in the Washington DC–Baltimore area. This role is responsible for developing and executing outreach strategies to grow and engage the chapter’s membership, including identifying prospective members, building relationships with cybersecurity leaders, and coordinating recruitment activities. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing membership communications, organizing outreach campaigns, collaborating with other chapter leaders on events and programs, and monitoring membership metrics and budgets related to outreach initiatives. The VP will also manage a small team or volunteers, ensure consistent member experience, and represent the chapter at industry events and partner meetings.
Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including the ability to engage with executive-level stakeholders and present clearly in group settings.
• Candidates should possess Strategic Planning skills to design and implement effective outreach and membership growth initiatives.
• Candidates should possess Team Leadership skills to guide volunteers or staff and collaborate with chapter and council leadership.
• Candidates should possess Sales skills to drive membership recruitment, build partnerships, and promote chapter programs.
• Candidates should possess Budgeting skills to manage outreach and membership-related resources responsibly.
• Experience in cybersecurity, technology, or professional associations is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, coordinate multiple initiatives, and build a strong professional network in the DC–Baltimore area.
