Typical Accountabilities — Senior Network Engineer
Accountability
1 Part of the Network Reliability Engineering team in a Scaled Agile operating model
2 Responsible for network design, engineering, implementation and automation of global network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, Network Security and Wi-Fi
3 Drive continuous improvement and high-quality documentation for Network Engineering Designs and implementation technical plans
4 Contribute to the standards and processes that deliver the strategic direction
5 Work closely with vendors in utilizing products and services to support and deliver the Network strategy and keep up to date with industry best practices
6 Set and uphold technical design standards for all aspects of Network Services
7 Ensure Technical Solution/Engineering and Support functions meet customer requirements
8 Ensure consistent and appropriate communication with internal stakeholders for technical solution design/engineering enquiries and issues
9 Contribute to the lifecycle of all technical network changes, enabling beneficial changes with minimum disruption to IT services
10 Identify and lead opportunities for Operating Model improvements across People, Organization, Technology and Information
11 Contribute to the technical roadmap of the Engineering team
12 In-depth knowledge of network technology with recognized industry experience and/or professional level accreditations (CCNP/CCIE or equivalent)
13 Understand and appreciate industry best practices around fixed and wireless network design and configuration
14 Reports to the Network Reliability Manager
15 Relevant skills, expertise, and experience in one or more of: Enterprise, Network Security or Wireless infrastructure
Technical Skills & Capabilities Required
ENTERPRISE LAN/WAN
Expert design knowledge of IP based networking architecture
Experience of leading the design and implementing complex changes
Experience of network build standard configuration based on industry best practice
Routing and Switching: Cisco ASR1K, ISR4K, SDWAN routers and Nexus 9K, Catalyst 9600/9500/9300 and Ruckus ICX switches
Expert understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP and Ethernet
Experience designing and implementing Software Defined Networking (SDN) / SD-WAN
Experience in designing, installing and operating Cisco Catalyst Center
In-depth knowledge and experience on L3 routing protocols (OSPF & BGP)
Technical knowledge and experience in load balancing using Citrix NetScaler platform
SECURITY
Experience in designing and implementing Network Security Solutions
Knowledge of Zero Trust Principles and Technical Solutions such as Zscaler Private Access (ZPA/ZIA)
Experience of Tufin SecureTrack
Firewall Policy and ruleset optimisation, analysis and standard methodology
Cisco StealthWatch and NetFlow experience
Multi-vendor firewall environment: Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, FirePower and Zone-Based Firewalls
Expert working knowledge of Cisco Security Products: ASA, FirePOWER, ISE
Cisco CCIE Security or CCNP Security — must have
WIRELESS
Demonstrable experience designing and implementing Enterprise scale Wi-Fi networks
Expertise in running MS Teams over Wi-Fi networks
Expert knowledge of Cisco and Ruckus Wi-Fi 6/7 Access Points
Experience in Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Ruckus SmartZone
Expert knowledge and hands-on experience performing wireless site surveys
Experience in Ekahau Site Survey Pro, Sidekick Pro and Spectrum Analyzer
