The Senior IAM Engineer/Architect is pivotal in driving enterprise IAM initiatives from conception through deployment. This role involves developing tailored Java-based solutions within SailPoint IdentityIQ and crafting cloud access automation using Python or PowerShell. You will oversee intricate access provisioning and deprovisioning workflows while collaborating with security and compliance teams to establish governance frameworks. This position reports directly to a Director or Senior Director.
Key Responsibilities
• Architectural Leadership & Design
• Lead enterprise IAM initiatives from planning through execution.
• Design and develop custom Java-based solutions within SailPoint IdentityIQ.
• Architect robust and scalable IAM solutions across hybrid environments.
• Collaborate on system architecture decisions and integration patterns.
• Design role modeling and certification campaigns.
• Engineering Excellence & Quality
• Write and modify Java code within SailPoint for custom business logic.
• Develop and customize connectors as needed.
• Configure and optimize workflow settings.
• Lead the implementation of comprehensive testing strategies for IAM solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex identity issues across diverse environments.
• DevOps & Infrastructure
• Build and maintain cloud access automation in AWS/Azure using Python/PowerShell.
• Implement AWS IAM with hands-on policy creation and automation.
• Manage complex access provisioning and deprovisioning workflows.
• Integrate and manage Active Directory/Azure AD administration and integration.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for audit purposes.
• Mentorship & Cultural Leadership
• Mentor junior engineers on SailPoint development and IAM architecture.
• Coach colleagues in IAM development best practices.
• Lead cross-functional teams on IAM transformation projects.
• Champion collaborative resolution of complex identity issues.
• Provide feedback on processes and suggest improvements.
• Product & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams on governance frameworks.
• Communicate complex IAM concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Share progress and priorities openly with key stakeholders.
• Utilize Agile/Scrum methodologies to lead projects.
• Work effectively under pressure and coordinate across multiple teams.
• Security & Compliance
• Ensure all deliverables meet enterprise security standards.
• Lead secure coding practices for IAM components.
• Design solutions that comply with governance and regulatory requirements.
Education/Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience. A Master’s degree and experience in the Financial Services sector are preferred.
• Experience must encompass securing networks and systems architecture, security policy development, and access control implementation.
• Proficient in more than one communication protocol.
• Experience managing various Cyber Security tools, including configuration assessment, log aggregation, and endpoint security solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships to enhance work quality.
• Demonstrated organization and the capacity to manage competing priorities.
• Adept at learning rapidly and adapting to a fast-paced environment.
Work Conditions
Hybrid work ecology with specific in-person attendance criteria. Occasional travel and extended hours may be required.
Salary Range
• CO/FL/TX: $111,400 – $202,100
• IL/PA: $122,800 – $222,400
• MA/MD/VA/Washington, DC: $128,000 – $232,500
• NY/NJ: $128,000 – $242,600
