Overview:

Overview

• Develops, delivers, and maintains cloud identity and access management area. Implement identity management strategies such as: Single sign-on, multifactor authentication, privileged account management, password vaulting, role-based access and just-in-time provisioning.

• Oversees cloud access management and delivers an approach that balances security needs and user experience to provide the best-in-class cloud identity security and access management to the organization.

• Develops and evolves identity and access management capabilities for workforce, privileged, machine, and emerging AI-based identities, ensuring secure, scalable, and governed access across cloud and enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Formally supervises, coaches, and mentors identity and access management staff and consultants at all levels.

• Formally provide management and direction an engineering expertise for cloud identity and access management solutions.

• Oversee daily operational support activities. Log, track and prioritize issues and project work as well as manage timely resolution of issues.

• Architect and deploy access management solution for AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.

• Provide subject matter expertise in Identity and Access Management technologies.

• Knowledge of cloud IAM architecture and SaaS-delivered IAM services.

• Ensures own teams compliance to regulatory and operational requirements as well as human resource practices.

• Helps identify and coach top talent within own teams (includes direct reports and second-line reports).

• Recognizes risks to information security and proactively implements solutions.

• May define security architecture strategy for the security aspects of major projects.

• Acts as a mentor to employees, and oversees employee management, growth and development.

• Leads the execution and delivery of security products and services.

• Participates in the creation of security domain specific strategies such as cloud identity and access management.

• Defines process improvements for gained efficiencies across security domains.

• Guides the team to create metrics across all functional tasks.

• Oversees the management, if responsible for a security domain (i.e. Identity Access Management), and acts as an authority on high-level complex decisions within the function.

• Creates and sustains an environment of ingenuity, creativity, and challenges the status quo to encourage innovation.

• Define and evolve access management strategies for emerging technologies including AI-powered applications, autonomous agents, machine identities, and non-human accounts.

• Partner with security, architecture, engineering, and product teams to establish governance, authentication, authorization, and lifecycle management controls for AI-enabled solutions and agentic workflows.

• Identify and drive opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, and AI capabilities to improve identity governance, access provisioning, access reviews, privileged access management, and operational efficiency.

Experiences

• Experiences working with a broad range of stakeholders to evaluate security risk and identify security best practice.

• Experienced with Single sign-on, multifactor authentication, privileged account management, password vaulting, role-based access, and just-in-time provisioning.

• Experiences in Cloud Identity and Access Management technologies, with the ability to demonstrate understanding of the business requirements.

• Knowledge of automation mechanisms of IAM governance and user provisioning tasks.

• IT experience with demonstrated thought-leadership and functional influence and partnership.

• Considered a department thought leader and expert in Cloud Security Engineering as well as experience in related IT disciplines.

• Experienced in engaging external IT vendors, including managing vendor selection and maintenance of vendor relations.

• Experience initiating and managing improvement in security domain areas such as identity access management by leveraging process metrics and customer feedback.

• Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders at the global/regional or local level.

• Experience implementing or supporting identity and access management controls for cloud-native applications, machine identities, APIs, service accounts, or emerging AI-enabled technologies.

• Understanding of evolving industry practices related to AI security, non-human identity governance, agentic systems, and access management principles for autonomous applications.

• Experience developing identity and access management strategies that address the evolving needs of workforce identities, privileged access, machine identities, and AI-driven agents.
