Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Security Operations Manager to lead our cybersecurity services focused on government and highly regulated customers. In this critical role, you will be the primary point of accountability for Security Operations, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and assurance obligations while effectively managing security risks.

As a leader, you will oversee Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, engage with various stakeholders, and ensure our services align with regulatory requirements. You will also coordinate incident responses and directly support our clients in maintaining a robust security posture.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management
• Serve as the main contact for government and regulated customers, facilitating security assurance discussions and audits.
• Manage operational security relationships, promptly addressing security questionnaires, evidence requests, and assurance reviews.
• Ensure SOC services meet government security expectations and adhere to regulatory standards.

Security Operations Oversight
• Lead and enhance monitoring, detection, and incident response activities across critical environments.
• Guarantee the execution of SOC processes is consistent and auditable per established runbooks and playbooks.
• Manage escalation of security events for regulated customers to ensure compliance and clear communication.

Incident Response & Regulatory Support
• Coordinate incident response efforts for incidents involving government or regulated customers.
• Oversee the triage and containment processes, ensuring timely communication with executives and customers.
• Collaborate with Legal, GRC, and Communications teams to manage necessary regulatory notifications and customer disclosures.

Reporting and Evidence Management
• Own the delivery of security reports and evidence for government clients, ensuring accuracy and defensibility.
• Support internal and external audits that pertain to our government and regulated customer accounts.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
• Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, including government customers and internal teams.
• Translate complex SOC operations into clear, risk-based communications for various audiences.

Continuous Improvement
• Identify and address systematic risks or control gaps, driving improvements across SOC processes and tools.
• Provide mentorship to SOC teams about regulatory awareness and high-quality evidence management.

Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience in leadership roles within Security Operations or Incident Response.
• In-depth understanding of security controls and incident management in regulated environments.
• Demonstrated experience with government or highly regulated customers.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, particularly in audit contexts.
• Ability to articulate technical security matters to non-technical audiences.

Desirable Qualifications
• Experience with audit frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
• Familiarity with SOC tools such as SIEM, EDR, and SOAR.
• Experience working with legal or compliance teams during security incidents.

Success Criteria

• Manage security incidents with professionalism and compliance.
• Address audit requests efficiently, providing high-quality evidence.
• Ensure SOC processes for regulated environments are repeatable and documented.

The salary range for this position is between $130,000 – $140,000 and eligibility for an annual incentive program is included.
