Glocomms is partnered with a leading North American quantitative trading firm to identify a Senior Information Security Analyst to join their Montreal-based security team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting enterprise IT operations, end-user technology services, and information security initiatives across a fast-paced trading environment. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, technology teams, and external security providers to strengthen the firm’s security posture while ensuring a seamless user experience.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide advanced IT support and helpdesk services for desktop, endpoint, and infrastructure-related issues across a global user base.
• Support and maintain security controls, monitoring platforms, and operational processes that protect the firm’s technology environment.
• Monitor security alerts, dashboards, and ticketing systems, performing real-time analysis and triage of security events and incidents.
• Investigate, escalate, and coordinate response efforts for cybersecurity incidents, including phishing attempts, malware activity, network-based threats, and suspected compromises.
• Conduct event log analysis, threat detection activities, and security investigations utilizing SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS technologies, and related monitoring tools.
• Identify security gaps and recommend countermeasures, mitigating controls, and remediation strategies to improve overall security posture.
• Collaborate with third-party security providers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support incident management and security operations.
• Assist with network and infrastructure troubleshooting involving routers, switches, TCP/IP networking, DNS, HTTP, and other core networking protocols.
• Support security reporting, documentation, and communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in security operations coverage, including occasional after-hours or weekend support as required.
Key Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, IT Operations, Help Desk, Systems Administration, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, end-user support, and infrastructure operations within mid-to-large-scale organizations.
• Experience monitoring and investigating security events within a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar security operations environment.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, security monitoring platforms, incident response processes, and threat detection technologies.
• Solid knowledge of network security concepts, IDS/IPS, host-based firewalls, data loss prevention (DLP), and common attack methodologies.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, IP addressing, routers, switches, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience analyzing phishing campaigns, malware activity, intrusion attempts, and other cybersecurity threats.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and security investigation skills with the ability to assess and prioritize risks effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven stakeholder management abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.
