Position Summary
The Director of IT and Systems oversees and manages all information technology, business intelligence, and cyber security portfolios supporting Islamic Relief USA’s (IRUSA) mission and strategy. The role requires working closely with executives, department heads and managers to fulfill their technology needs in accordance with IRUSA’s policies and procedures. The individual must demonstrate the ability to adapt to a continually evolving, fast-paced environment and possess excellent leadership, communication, and creative problem solving skills. The individual must also understand and exhibit a commitment to IRUSA’s faith-based and humanitarian values and principles, as well as a commitment to the vision and mission of the organization.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Oversee, manage, and deliver information technology products, services, or systems to improve processes and procedures across the organization.
• Have the vision and ability to develop, recommend, direct, execute, and report on strategic initiatives that satisfy technical organizational requirements as constrained by scope, resources, and time.
• Bring a high level of customer service and collaborative, problem-solving approach to overcome challenges.
• Help identify opportunities to automate systems and processes throughout our entire organization.
• Implement and maintain a strong organizational cyber-security posture.
• Verify the integrity and safety of all organizational and proprietary data and develop information security methods for emerging threats.
• Develop and manage information technology disaster recovery policies, procedures, and practices
• Establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of IRUSA’s strategic goals and priorities.
• Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal progress and accomplishments.
• Develop and monitor an annual budget to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and mission.
• Develop and manage strategic vendor and partnership relationships.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Stay current with developments in new technologies and platforms.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Competencies
• Demonstrated and consistent record of personal and professional conduct that promotes an inclusive climate and IRUSA values.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field; MS or advanced degree preferred.
• 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
• 5 years of experience in senior management role.
• High level of comfort implementing and managing systems and/or experience in Salesforce, Google Workspace and NetSuite.
• Demonstrated ability and experience making strategic and operational decisions based on analysis and evaluation of data.
• Demonstrated ability and experience with budgeting and controlling IT expenditures.
• Proactive problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reporting staff members, senior management and executive leadership.
• Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking and planning into actionable plans, and output to achieve tangible results.
• Demonstrated ability to create and sustain an engaging, mission-centered, and high-performing work environment.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated and committed to humanitarian mission and values; ability to lead by example, with transparency and integrity that motivates staff at all levels.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
