About the Company

The Arc Mercer is a trusted leader in providing comprehensive support and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across Mercer County.

Position Overview

The Arc Mercer is seeking an IT Director to oversee all technology operations across the agency, including hardware, software, networking, cybersecurity, user support, and system integrations. This leader will guide the organization’s technology roadmap while providing support to ensure systems run smoothly for all employees and programs.

This role combines big‑picture thinking with practical execution — someone who can manage projects, improve systems, support staff, and ensure our technology environment is reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational needs.

This leader supports critical systems including our HRIS (Paycom), EHR platforms, operational software, and agency‑wide hardware and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Planning
• Lead the development and execution of the organization’s technology roadmap.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements, modernization, and efficiency.
• Evaluate new tools, platforms, and solutions that support agency operations.

Hands‑On IT Operations (as needed / you will have reports handling this most of the time)
• Oversee day‑to‑day IT support for hardware, software, networking, and user issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical problems.
• Maintain servers, workstations, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Ensure reliable connectivity across all Arc Mercer locations.

Project Management
• Lead technology projects from planning through implementation.
• Coordinate with vendors, internal teams, and leadership to meet timelines and budgets.
• Manage system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management
• Maintain cybersecurity protocols, monitoring, and incident response processes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data privacy laws, and internal security standards.
• Conduct regular security assessments and implement corrective actions.

Systems Integration & Data Oversight
• Support integrations between Paycom and other agency systems.
• Ensure data flows are accurate, secure, and aligned with operational needs.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Program leadership to optimize system performance.

Team Leadership & Support
• Supervise IT staff and contractors.
• Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities.
• Foster a responsive, service‑oriented IT culture.

Qualifications

Required
• 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong background in hardware, software, networking, and user support.
• Experience managing IT projects and implementing new systems.
• Ability to balance leadership with hands‑on technical work.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred
• Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or multi‑site environments.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems (Paycom experience a plus).
• Experience with EHR platforms, cloud services, and system integrations.
• IT certifications (CompTIA, Network+, Security+, PMP, CISSP, etc.).
