Faculty Positions in Cybersecurity

Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is seeking exceptional faculty at the ranks of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor, in Cybersecurity and related disciplines to join School of Engineering, Applied Science, and Technology (SEAST).
Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in Cybersecurity. Candidates should have a strong record of teaching, research, and industry engagement in Cybersecurity or AI applications in cybersecurity.
Proficiency In With Open Cybersecurity Tools

Candidates Should Demonstrate Practical Experience With Widely Used Open‑source Cybersecurity Tools And Frameworks, Such As
• Experience using and teaching open‑source penetration testing and security assessment tools from the OWASP ecosystem (e.g., OWASP ZAP, OWASP Dependency‑Check, OWASP Juice Shop).
• Hands‑on experience with vulnerability scanning, web application security testing, and secure coding practices using OWASP tools and methodologies.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) – by ISC2, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) – by ISACA, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) – by ISACA, Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) – by Offensive Security, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) – by Global Information Assurance Certification, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) – by Global Information Assurance Certification or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) – by EC‑Council) are preferred.
Experience

Requirements
• Assistant Professor – Minimum 2 years of undergraduate teaching experience in a top 300 QS‑ranked university, with curriculum development and graduation project supervision experience.
• Associate Professor – Minimum 5 years of undergraduate/graduate teaching experience in a top 500 QS‑ranked university, with MSc/PhD supervision experience. Familiarity with ABET accreditation is preferred.
Teaching Areas

Teaching will span the key areas in Cybersecurity and general computing courses:
• Foundations of Computer Science, AI and Machine Learning, providing core principles and algorithms.
• Operating systems, data structure, data mining, algorithms and software paradigms, focusing on cutting‑edge techniques, large language models and emerging models.
• Network Security, Cryptographic Algorithms, Software Vulnerability, Security Threats and Risk Analysis, Mobile and Wireless Security, and Penetration Testing and Ethical hacking; and
• Professional Practice and Research, fostering project management, industry engagement, and scholarly inquiry.
Research Focus

Successful Candidates Will Drive High‑impact Research, Producing 2–10 Publications In Reputable, Peer‑reviewed Journals (preferably Q1/Q2 Scopus‑indexed, Commensurate With Academic Rank). Research Should Advance Innovation In Computer Science, Applied Science And Cybersecurity While Addressing Global Challenges Through The Following Thematic Areas
• AI‑based intrusion detection systems
• Malware detection and classification using machine learning
• Adversarial machine learning and AI security
• Automated threat intelligence and security analytics
• Behavioral anomaly detection in networks and systems
• AI Cybersecurity policy and ethics – shaping responsible innovation and governance frameworks.
