Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday 12pm-8pm, and 9am-5pm Friday
Position Overview:
The Business School at a local University is seeking a knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated Cyber Security Instructor to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will either currently hold at least two of the relevant CompTIA certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, A+) and be willing to obtain the remaining certification within six (6) months of employment, fully funded by the program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in CompTIA certification topics including A+, Networking+, and Security+.
• Prepare students for industry-recognized CompTIA certifications through engagement activities.
• Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, labs, and assessments on Canvas.
• Provide mentorship and support to students pursuing cybersecurity career paths.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, threats, and technologies.
• Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to support learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with program coordinators and contribute to continuous program improvement.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Two years of two of the three A+, Networking+ or Security+ certification teaching experience at high school or above.
• Strong foundational knowledge in cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Active certifications in at least two of the following certifications: A+, Network+, Security+
Preferred:
• Three certifications: A+, Networking+, Security+
• Previous teaching or training experience in cybersecurity or IT other than A+, Network+, and Security+
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Compensation & Benefits:
• 6 months contract to hire
• Incentive: The program will cover costs for CompTIA certification exams if applicable.
• Post-Probation Salary Review: Potential increase based on performance and merit.
