Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cyber Security Instructor role based in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The Cyber Security Instructor will design, update, and deliver instructor-led courses on core security topics, including network security, application security, information security, and malware analysis. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, labs, and assessments; presenting complex technical concepts in accessible, engaging formats; and mentoring learners with diverse technical backgrounds. The instructor will evaluate learner performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate training records. Additional duties include collaborating with subject-matter experts to keep curriculum aligned with current threats, tools, frameworks, and certifications, and contributing to community events, workshops, or client-focused training sessions as needed.
Qualifications
• Strong foundational knowledge in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with the ability to explain principles such as CIA triad, risk management, security controls, and security frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Network Security, including secure network design, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network traffic analysis.
• Proficiency in Application Security concepts and practices, such as secure coding, common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top Ten), and secure SDLC.
• Experience with Malware Analysis or threat analysis, including basic static and dynamic analysis, indicators of compromise, and defensive strategies.
• Prior teaching, corporate training, or technical mentoring experience, with strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop clear training materials, labs, and assessments tailored to beginner and intermediate learners.
• Familiarity with security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners) and common operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, GSEC, or equivalent practical experience are highly preferred.
