# Mythics, LLC — Configuration Management SME / Technical Writer (Cloud Security)
## Overview
We are seeking a Configuration Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Writer with a strong background in cloud security to support federal and DoD programs. This position will lead configuration management (CM) processes and produce high-quality security documentation required for compliance frameworks such as RMF, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP.
## What the role involves
In this role you will develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures for cloud-based systems including OCI, AWS, and Azure Gov. You will establish and manage configuration baselines, change control processes, and version control practices, and you will create and maintain ATO documentation such as SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and supporting artifacts. Translating technical security controls into clear, compliant documentation aligned to NIST 800-53 and RMF requirements is a core part of the job.
You will collaborate closely with engineers, ISSOs, and DevSecOps teams to ensure accurate documentation of system configurations and security controls. Support for audits, assessments, and continuous monitoring activities is expected, along with maintaining document repositories and ensuring traceability across system changes and security artifacts.
## Experience, education, and clearance
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience is required. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
## Skills and technologies you should know
We expect familiarity with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure) and cloud security principles. Experience with configuration management and technical writing in federal or otherwise regulated environments is required. You should be comfortable supporting ATO processes and security documentation development, and have a strong working knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and/or FedRAMP requirements.
Proficiency with version control and documentation tools such as Git, SharePoint, and Confluence is required. Preferred experience includes DoD environments (IL4/IL5/IL6), familiarity with DISA STIGs and vulnerability management processes, certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CCSP, and experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
