Job Description

Cloud Security Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

We partner with the world’s leading AI research labs to build and evaluate frontier AI models — and we need cloud security practitioners who know how cloud environments
actually fail.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your real-world security expertise to one of the most impactful fields in tech: AI training. You won’t be writing policies or filing tickets — you’ll be shaping how AI systems reason about cloud security risks, misconfigurations, and incidents.

– Organization: Alignerr
– Type: Hourly Contract
– Location: Remote
– Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You’ll Do

– Analyze cloud security scenarios across AWS, GCP, and Azure to identify realistic risks and failure patterns
– Review IAM policies, networking configurations, storage controls, and container security for gaps and misconfigurations
– Classify security failures based on real-world blast radius, risk exposure, and business impact
– Evaluate and improve AI-generated security reasoning so it reflects how cloud incidents actually unfold
– Provide structured expert feedback that directly improves AI model quality and accuracy

Who You Are

– 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud environments in production
– Strong familiarity with cloud IAM, networking, storage, and container security across one or more major cloud platforms
– Experience identifying or responding to real-world misconfigurations and security incidents
– Able to reason clearly about blast radius, attack surface, and downstream business impact
– Detail-oriented with clear written communication skills
– Comfortable working independently and asynchronously

Nice to Have

– Experience with cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools
– Background in penetration testing, red teaming, or incident response
– Familiarity with frameworks like CIS Benchmarks, NIST, or SOC 2
– Prior work on AI or data annotation projects

Why Join Us

– Work directly on frontier AI systems with top research labs
– Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
– Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
– Contribute to work that meaningfully improves how AI understands security
– Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
