We’re Hiring: Cyber Security Engineer (Permanent)

emergiTEL is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our client’s growing team in the fintech and cryptocurrency space.

Location: Etobicoke, ON (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

Employment Type: Permanent

Compensation: $108,000 – $135,000 per year

In this role, you’ll help secure a modern AWS-based cloud environment, lead incident response efforts, strengthen vulnerability management programs, enhance SIEM and detection capabilities, and collaborate with engineering teams to build secure, scalable systems.

We’re looking for professionals with:

• 5–7 years of hands-on AWS and cloud security experience

• Strong expertise in networking, Linux, IAM, and infrastructure security

• Application security and secure software delivery experience

• Incident response and penetration testing management experience

• Experience in fintech, cryptocurrency, or other regulated industries

• Security automation and tooling skills

Nice-to-have:

• SIEM implementation and detection engineering experience

• SAST/DAST expertise

• Knowledge of FINTRAC, MiCA, DORA, PIPEDA, PCI-DSS, or SOC 2

• Security certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, GIAC, Security+, or cloud security certifications
