New hires for this position are typically brought into the organization between $69,824.00 – $79,584.00. Webb Municipal Office Building at 201 West Colfax Avenue with occasional field visits for operational check ins. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though it varies depending on business needs and may include occasional emergency phone calls after hours.Work fully onsite, five days a week. This position does not offer remote or hybrid options. Your schedule will vary to ensure consistent in-person interaction with both swing and overnight shift staff.This role is performed in an enclosed workspace with no access to natural light and limited face to face interaction in a restricted area with moderate noise.Who We Are & What You’ll DoThe Administration Division, part of the Department of General Services, manages citywide service contracts, facility security, utility payments, and mailroom operations. It is part of a three-division department that provides integral support for 40-plus City and County of Denver agencies, departments, and offices. For more information on the Department of General Services, visit our website on Department of General ServicesIn this supervisory role, you will provide strong leadership and oversight of daily operations, ensuring effective implementation of policies, procedures, and operational improvements across supported programs. You will also collaborate closely with peer security agencies to support a cohesive, citywide approach to security.Specifically, in the role of SOC Operational Supervisor within the Denver Security Office (DSO), reporting directly to the Chief Security Officer, you will:* Serve as a working supervisor with a strong focus on effective, hands-on leadership.* Monitor video surveillance systems and respond to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and evacuations and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.* Manage call center activity, incident reports, and security logs.* Lead all SOC operations including staffing, equipment deployment, functional oversight, and training.* Maintain active and engaged supervision, including monitoring performance, coaching and training staff, managing change, and supporting professional growth.* Deliver exceptional customer service and collaborate closely with peer SOC functions across the city to support innovation and operational efficiency.* Build and maintain positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, service providers, city agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure cooperation and support.* Respond with agility and sound judgment, accurately assessing situations with tact and poise.* Demonstrate the ability to develop, write, and sustain comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workplans, while effectively prioritizing and delegating workload.* Apply policies and SOPs independently with minimal need for external direction.* Develop, implement, track, and report SOC metrics and data analytics with full ownership, both weekly and as otherwise requested.* Seek opportunities for innovation by identifying improvements and recommending implementation-ready changes.* Offer technical expertise in risk analysis and continuity of government operations.* Support the development of RFPs and contracts for new or expanded security services.What You’ll BringWe value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels.
