AWS Cloud Engineer

Quantico, VA | Top Secret Cleared Contract

Position Overview

The Amatriot Group is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support and maintain enterprise

cloud environments supporting mission-critical applications. This role will focus on AWS

infrastructure, Linux administration, cloud security, automation, monitoring, and compliance

initiatives within a highly available production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure supporting production and

development environments.

• Administer and support Linux-based systems within AWS.

• Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, encryption

solutions, and system hardening practices.

• Support compliance initiatives and security frameworks, including implementation and

maintenance of controls aligned with NIST 800-53 requirements.

• Assist with Authorization to Operate (ATO) efforts through continuous monitoring,

auditing, and documentation activities.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management

solutions.

• Monitor system health, performance, and availability using centralized logging and

monitoring tools.

• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, operating system, networking, and

security-related issues.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to support mission

requirements and operational objectives.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard

operating procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or 7 years with no degree.

Advanced certifications, specialized training, or equivalent hands-on experience may be

considered in lieu of years of experience.

• Active Top Secret security clearance is required, with willingness and ability to obtain a

CI polygraph.

• Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting.

• Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch,

CloudTrail, AWS Config, and KMS.

• Understanding of cloud security best practices, access control, encryption, and

compliance requirements.

• Working knowledge of networking concepts including routing, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud

networking.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting NIST 800-53 security controls, RMF processes, or ATO activities.

• Familiarity with continuous monitoring, centralized logging, and configuration

management practices.

• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation,

Ansible, or similar technologies.

• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with AWS security and compliance services.

• Experience supporting highly available, large-scale AWS environments.

• AWS certifications are a plus.
