Role Description The Nonprofit Board Treasurer – Cybersecurity role is a part-time, remote volunteer board position responsible for overseeing the financial health and integrity of the Global CISO Council WDC Chapter. On a day-to-day basis, the Treasurer maintains accurate financial records, tracks income and expenses, and prepares regular financial statements for the board. The role includes supporting annual budgeting, monitoring cash flow, ensuring timely payments and reimbursements, and helping align financial plans with the chapter’s strategic priorities. The Treasurer collaborates with the Board Chair, Secretary, and committee leads to provide financial insights for programs, events, and sponsorships, while ensuring adherence to nonprofit financial policies and applicable regulations. The individual may also contribute cybersecurity-informed oversight to financial systems and processes, helping ensure secure handling of financial data and online transactions.
Qualifications
• Strong finance and accounting skills, including experience with Accounting and Finance in a nonprofit or small-organization context.
• Ability to prepare, interpret, and present Financial Statements, with familiarity in Financial Planning to support strategic decisions.
• Demonstrated experience with Budgeting, including creating, monitoring, and adjusting annual and program-level budgets.
• Comfort using digital tools and basic cybersecurity best practices to safeguard financial records, online payment platforms, and sensitive data.
• Prior board, committee, or leadership experience in a nonprofit, professional association, or cybersecurity-related organization is highly beneficial.
• Strong integrity, attention to detail, and ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Availability to participate in board meetings, finance-related discussions, and key chapter events in a part-time capacity.
• Relevant education or certification in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent experience will be considered.
