Security Operations Center Officer(SOC)

Job Description

Company: Securitas

Location: Parsippany-Troy Hills, US

## Security Operation Center Officer (SOC Operator)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and technologically savvy professional to join our Security Operations Center team in Newark, New Jersey. This role operates on morning and evening shifts and pays $21.45 per hour.

### The Role

As a SOC Operator, you’ll be critical to our security operations, monitoring systems and ensuring timely escalation and communication of security-related activity. You’ll work from a workstation or desk environment, where your focus is on identifying risks, interpreting data, and coordinating with designated personnel who handle response actions.

Your day-to-day work includes monitoring security systems, alarms, and CCTV feeds to identify unusual activity and potential risks. You’ll maintain heightened awareness and respond appropriately to alarms, safety issues, and emerging situations as they arise. Accurately interpreting CCTV and system data is essential—you’ll need to determine next steps, including notifications, escalation, and documentation. Clear written reports and timely verbal notifications to appropriate stakeholders are a key part of the job.

You’ll utilize technology-based security platforms and tools as part of your daily operations and conduct system checks to ensure all monitoring equipment functions properly. Tracking and escalating suspicious activity or operational concerns falls under your responsibilities, as does supporting investigations by reviewing video footage and compiling evidence. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and security procedures is non-negotiable, and you’ll need to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.

One additional responsibility: you’ll prepare and distribute daily weather reports that may impact employee movement, site operations, or security activities.

### What We’re Looking For

Security experience requirements vary, but you must bring prior leadership experience or documented training demonstrating advanced situational awareness. You’ll need experience responding to risks, unusual activity, and alarm events, along with relevant experience in technology-based security systems. Experience in GSOC, SOC, or similar environments is preferred.

CCTV experience is essential. You should have a clear understanding of how to analyze what you’re viewing, what actions are taken with that information, and proper reporting, notifications, and escalation procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to remain calm, professional, and focused in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.

Preferred qualifications include prior supervisory experience, familiarity with report writing related to security incidents, and experience working with monitoring platforms, alarm management systems, and access control technology. Strong attention to detail and situational awareness are valued, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

### What We Offer

Securitas provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. You’ll have 401K retirement options, paid time off, and weekly pay. We offer paid training and free uniforms, plus employee discounts on retail, phone plans, rentals, and more. Pet daycare discounts and an employee assistance program (EAP) are also available. There are career advancement opportunities within our organization.
