Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Cybersecurity Engineer.

The Cybersecurity

Engineer will be responsible for protecting organizational systems, networks, and data from cyber threats by designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions.

Key responsibilities include monitoring security infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards. The role also involves conducting risk assessments, implementing security controls, supporting threat detection and prevention activities, and enhancing system resilience.

The Cybersecurity

Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen security posture, develop incident response strategies, and support continuous improvement of cybersecurity practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network security, and information assurance
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls
• Understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection tools
• Proficiency in network protocols, system hardening, and secure configuration practices
• Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and security risk analysis
• Knowledge of incident response procedures and threat mitigation strategies
• Familiarity with encryption methods, identity and access management, and authentication systems
• Understanding of operating systems security (Windows, Linux, or Unix environments)
• Ability to monitor security logs and analyze suspicious activities
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with penetration testing concepts and security testing tools
• Ability to work collaboratively with IT and engineering teams
• Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills
• Knowledge of cloud security principles is an advantage
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are a plus
• Commitment to maintaining secure, resilient, and compliant digital environments
