Manager, Cybersecurity – Privileged Access Management (PAM)
The Manager, Cybersecurity – Privileged Access Management (PAM), leads the team responsible for securing and governing privileged access across Southwest’s technology environment.
They’ll drive the strategy and modernization ofenterprise PAM, including ownership of the Idira (formerly CyberArk) platform, ensuring access is controlled, auditable, and aligned to least privilege.
In partnership with Technology Teams, they’ll drive adoption of secure access practices, enabling teams to move efficiently while reducing enterprise risk at scale.
They’ll assist in advancing modern security practices and automated privileged access solutions across the organization and lead critical modernization initiatives, including the transition from on-premises Idira to Privilege Cloud.
These efforts will enhance scalability, improve user experience, reduce risk, and advance cloud-based identity security solutions to strengthen Southwest’s overall security posture.

Additional details
• This role is open to candidates located both within and outside the DallasFort Worth (DFW) area.
Workplace expectations are based on the employee’s primary residence at the time of hire.

• DFW-based Employees (Onsite):
Employees who reside in the DFW metroplex will be designated as onsite and are required to work from Southwest Airlines’ Dallas, TX Headquarters during business hours, with an expectation of being onsite four (4) days per week.

• Non-DFW Employees (Remote):
Employees who reside outside the DFW metroplex will be designated as remote.
The majority of work will be performed remotely, with required quarterly travel to Dallas, TX, including week-long onsite visits for collaboration, planning, training, or other business needs.

• Please note, while this role is eligible for remote work, there is a limited group of states or localities in which employees are ineligible to regularly perform their work.
Those ineligible locations are:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of business/leadership principals, including planning, organizing, directing, developing, and supervising
• Knowledge of personnel practices and regulations
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, software development practices, concepts, methodologies, tools, and trends

Education
• Required:
High School Diploma or GED
• Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent cybersecurity formal training
Experience

Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading teams
