We are partnering with a leading public-sector client on a mission-critical network security initiative focused on strengthening infrastructure, enhancing visibility, and ensuring secure, resilient network operations across enterprise environments. This engagement will support ongoing modernization efforts and the implementation of advanced network security controls within a highly regulated environment.

Position Summary

The Network Security Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for supporting enterprise network security architecture, monitoring network activity, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience across network engineering, security protocols, and monitoring tools, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly secure environment.

We specialize in delivering enterprise technology solutions including CRM, EAM, ERP, PMO, and QA services. We support clients across public sector, utilities, financial services, and Fortune organizations, often partnering with leading system integrators.

Job Title: Network Security Engineer

Location: New York, NY (2 Manhattan Locations)

Work Environment: 100% onsite (no remote or hybrid options available)

Duration:

Through December 31, 2026, with strong likelihood of extension for an additional 12 months

Key Responsibilities
• Design, configure, and support secure network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls
• Implement and manage network segmentation and isolation strategies to enhance security posture
• Support Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) frameworks and related technologies (e.g., TACACS)
• Monitor and analyze network traffic using security and monitoring tools, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Perform packet capture (PCAP) analysis to investigate network anomalies and security incidents
• Configure and manage network devices across platforms including Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto
• Support and maintain network taps and related visibility tools
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure network security aligns with enterprise standards and compliance requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and security-related issues in a timely manner
• Document network configurations, security controls, and operational procedures

Required Qualifications (Mandatory)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering and/or network security
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA)
• TACACS
• Network segmentation and isolation
• Switching and routing protocols (Static, BGP, OSPF)
• Experience configuring and designing:
• Switches, routers, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto)
• Proficiency in network security and monitoring tools
• Experience performing PCAP analysis and troubleshooting network traffic
• Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security best practices
• Ability to work onsite in New York, NY

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with network automation tools and frameworks
• Exposure to Network IDS in OT (Operational Technology) environments
• Experience with Cisco Secure Network Analytics (StealthWatch)
• Familiarity with Cisco Client
• Scripting experience (Python or other languages)
• Relevant certifications such as:
• CCNA
• CCNP
• CCIE
